About Jasper

What is Jasper?

Jasper is a warm, mid-tone earthy red-brown from the Colorbond® steel range, named for the iron-rich stone of the same name. It sits in the same family as Ironstone but lighter and warmer, closer to the colour of weathered terracotta or the bark of an old red gum. Jasper reads homely and rural without ever feeling dated.

Why Jasper works

Jasper sits in the warm mid-tone range of the palette. It's deep enough to anchor a building and warm enough to feel inviting, which makes it a long-running favourite for working farms, hobby blocks, and country homesteads. Jasper softens against paddock and bushland surrounds, holds its character on roof or wall areas, and reads warmer than the grey neutrals on a homestead build. Jasper has a solar absorptance of 0.67 (BlueScope SteelSelect data), so it runs warmer than the light neutrals and roof insulation matters more on a hot site.

Buildings designed in Jasper

Jasper suits rural buyers wanting a warm earthy tone. Typical pairings:

Colours that pair with Jasper

For roof and trim, Jasper pairs cleanly with Classic Cream (warm heritage homestead, the most common pairing), Surfmist (high-contrast light walls), Paperbark (warm-on-warm tonal blend), and Woodland Grey (deeper natural contrast for modern country builds).

Why Colorbond® steel?

Every Jasper wall and roof sheet on a ShedDesigner build is 100% Australian-made BlueScope Colorbond® steel, rolled to AS 1397 and backed by a BlueScope warranty of up to 15 years against corrosion to perforation for shed and garage applications (check your build on BlueScope's warranty estimator). The configurator sends your finished design to ShedSafe accredited dealers for quoting: one design, multiple quotes.
