What is Ironstone?

Ironstone is a deep, earthy red-brown from the Colorbond® steel range, drawn from the iron-rich rock that runs through the Australian landscape. It's darker and quieter than Manor Red, with more brown than red in the mix, which is why it's often described as a heritage colour with modern attitude.

Why Ironstone works

Ironstone sits in the dark warm end of the palette. It carries weight without going industrial, and it bridges traditional homestead palettes and contemporary builds equally well. Ironstone holds its character on big roof areas, looks established on heritage barns, and gives modern shed homes a grounded, earthy presence.
