About Dune

What is Dune?

Dune is a warm, light beige-grey from the Colorbond® steel range, named for the soft sandstone tones of the Australian coast and dryland country. It's a quiet, neutral colour, warmer than Surfmist but lighter than Wallaby. Dune is a popular choice on coastal builds, lifestyle blocks, and warmer suburban developments.

Why Dune works

Dune sits in the warm-light end of the palette. It has a solar absorptance of 0.48 (BlueScope SteelSelect data), so it reflects a good share of solar heat while sitting a step warmer in tone than Surfmist. It softens large wall areas and reads as understated rather than statement. Dune works on coastal homes, suburban garages, light commercial fronts, and shed homes designed to feel quietly contemporary without leaning either modern-cool or heritage-warm. It's the bridge colour between Surfmist and Paperbark.

Garages and sheds designed in Dune

Dune is a middle-ground choice for buyers who want a soft warm light without going full cream. Typical pairings:

Colours that pair with Dune

For roof and trim, Dune pairs cleanly with Manor Red (warm heritage roof pairing), Woodland Grey (rural-warm tonal), Wallaby (subtle warm-grey contrast), and Monument (sharper modern contrast).

Why Colorbond® steel?

Every Dune wall and roof sheet on a ShedDesigner build is 100% Australian-made BlueScope Colorbond® steel, rolled to AS 1397 and backed by a BlueScope warranty of up to 15 years against corrosion to perforation for shed and garage applications (check your build on BlueScope's warranty estimator). The configurator sends your finished design to ShedSafe accredited dealers for quoting: one design, multiple quotes.
